Residents in the City of Carmel have a digital rendezvous to mark on their calendars, as local officials prepare to address the community on fiscal changes on the horizon. Mayor Sue Finkam, alongside Dr. Thomas Oestreich of Carmel Clay Schools and Bob Swanay of the Carmel Clay Public Library, will spearhead a virtual presentation updating the city's financial forecast, specifically the revenue impacts anticipated in 2026 due to recent alterations to the property tax system.
A presentation on statewide financial changes affecting homeowners and businesses will be held on August 28 at 6 p.m. The 60-minute session will be broadcast on CarmelTV, the City of Carmel Facebook page, and the City’s YouTube channel, giving the public multiple ways to learn how the changes may impact their finances.
The City of Carmel is inviting residents to submit questions ahead of an upcoming virtual meeting. Community members can send concerns through a fillable form until noon on August 27. During the meeting, officials Finkam, Oestreich, and Swanay will respond to questions, though not all may be addressed due to time limits and the complexity of issues.
