According to a Carmel Police Department post, a "Search and Seizure Case Law Course" was hosted this week, drawing participation from approximately 30 officers hailing from various corners of Indiana. Their objective: to delve deeper into the intricacies of case law that patrol officers encounter on a daily basis.
The course, led by Sgt. Mike Brazil, who currently serves as a patrol sergeant and also holds a law degree, was geared towards imparting crucial insights that could only come from someone navigating the dual realms of policing and legal practice. Participants, many from CPD itself, engaged in this training with a clear aim: to emerge as more knowledgeable enforcers of the law within their community. The Carmel Police Department announced the event with an air of pragmatism, noting, "Ongoing training like this helps ensure our officers remain well-prepared and knowledgeable while serving our community."
