The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert, urging individuals to stay vigilant after an armed suspect reportedly targeted local businesses, demanding money from the registers before fleeing the scene.
The incidents occurred on the 5100 block of N. Kimball on August 15, at 11:20 p.m., and on the 3400 block of W. Peterson on Sunday, at 10:28 p.m. According to the Chicago Police Department, the suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing dark clothing and a face mask, and he is armed with a handgun.
In response to these events, authorities are advising the public to report any suspicious activity immediately and to alert surrounding businesses of the potential threat. They also recommend ensuring that all surveillance cameras are both functional and actively recording.
