
A grass fire broke out yesterday near Southwest 157 Avenue and 10 Street, close to Miccosukee Tribe of Indians territory in Miami-Dade County. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) responded shortly before 3:35 p.m., and by 5:25 p.m., 11 units, including aerial support, were deployed to contain the blaze, Local 10 News reported.
The Florida Forest Service assisted in the effort, while MDFR used a water-carrying apparatus to fight the fire. Officials warned that smoke could cause coughing, wheezing, or shortness of breath, and advised residents with respiratory issues to remain indoors. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue stated that no structures were under immediate threat, though smoky conditions may affect the area.

According to NBC Miami, the cause and size of the fire remain under investigation, and the total acreage burned has not yet been determined. Dry weather conditions have increased the risk of brush fires.
Firefighters from MDFR and the Florida Forest Service continue working to contain the fire. Residents near the area are urged to take precautions and stay alert for updates.
