In a recent multi-agency crackdown, a drug bust in Fort Pierce led to the arrest of a local man on narcotics charges. As reported by CBS12, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO), in coordination with its School Resource Deputy K-9 Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force, arrested 52-year-old John McPhee in the Lakewood Park area on Thursday.
This apprehension was part of a targeted operation by the SLCSO's Special Investigations Division. Together with the canine unit, which has been instrumental in the operation to bring the suspect into custody, the U.S. Marshals assisted. "This successful operation is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to removing dangerous drugs from our streets," Sheriff Richard Del Toro stated, emphasizing the power of inter-agency collaboration, as per CBS12.
McPhee, who was found to be charged on multiple drug counts, is currently held on a $130,000 bond at the St. Lucie County Jail. The charges against the suspect include two counts of sale and delivery of cocaine and two counts of unlawful use of a two-way communications device as per WPBF.
According to Sheriff Del Toro, the arrest underscores the dedication of local and federal law enforcement agencies to "protecting the safety and well-being of our community," as told to CBS12.
