The City of Lawrence will add a sand volleyball court to Lee Road Park, with sand to be spread soon and nets installed within the next two weeks.
According to the City of Lawrence website, Lee Road Park, located at 6200 Lee Road, already includes pickleball courts, a nature trail, a playground, and a mural created in 2024 by students from Lawrence North High School. The park also features a Butterfly & Pollinator Habitat with native plants.
A new pedestrian trail, funded by a $1.7 million grant, now connects the park to Fort Harrison State Park, Forest Glen Elementary School, and surrounding neighborhoods. The park also includes picnic areas and natural spaces for public use.
