The City of Lawrence has appointed Terri Leah Falker as its new City Controller, announced Mayor Deb Whitfield. Falker has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, including cost accounting, accounts payable, budgeting, and financial reporting.

According to the City of Lawrence website, Falker’s public sector experience includes serving as Director of Finance for Indiana Black Expo, Inc., and as Chief Financial Officer for the City of Indianapolis Department of Public Safety and the Indiana Civil Rights Commission. She will oversee the city’s finances and manage preparations for the 2026 Civil City Budget.

The City of Lawrence also acknowledged Humphrey Nagila, Falker's interim predecessor, for his service. Falker will assume responsibility for Lawrence’s Finance Department and ongoing financial operations.
