A woman's recent attempt to rush through Miami International Airport ended with her arrest after she repeatedly entered a secure TSA area. The incident, which occurred last Saturday night, was reported by CBS News Miami, detailing Maria Paula Morais-Sousa, 27, as she approached and was apprehended at TSA Checkpoint 3.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, Morais-Sousa was initially warned by an Allied Universal Security officer that she was attempting to enter a restricted area designated for individuals who had completed security screening. Although she temporarily complied, she returned minutes later and attempted to enter the same area again. Undercoverist also reported that, despite being advised to use the appropriate checkpoint to avoid possible intervention by the sheriff's office, Morais-Sousa proceeded past the security point and entered the restricted zone.
In their pursuit, deputies were eventually able to locate and detain Morais-Sousa, who upon arrest, was taken to the airport station. There she was read her Miranda rights, a process she acknowledged with a signed waiver. After providing a written statement, she was transported to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without further disruptions, according to CBS News Miami.
