In what can only be considered a fortunate turn of events, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has located 19-year-old Destanee Williams, who was reported missing earlier today. According to IMPD News, the Missing Persons Division of the department successfully found Williams after she was believed to have been taken under threatening circumstances by her ex-boyfriend, Cieyon Wheeler.
Earlier updates from the IMPD highlighted an urgent search for Williams, describing her as a young woman with distinct multi-colored dreadlocks and notable tattoos, last observed in a black hoodie and gray pants; they also revealed an increased sense of urgency as the police were looking for a possible second suspect, a black male clad in all black attire, and asked the public to come forward with any information, especially those who were in the 7800 block of Penobscot Drive around 3-4 am when the alleged abduction occurred, "IMPD Officers are now looking for a possible second suspect, a black male wearing all black clothing," as posted IMPD News.
While Williams has been safely located, the search continues for Wheeler and the potential second suspect, with authorities still piecing together the details of what led to Williams's disappearance. IMPD has expressed gratitude to the community for their assistance and support in locating Williams and stresses the importance of continued public vigilance to aid in apprehending the suspects, as indicated in their social media update, "We are still looking for the two suspects." IMPD appreciates the continued support of our community in helping locate Williams," IMPD News reported.
The case, assigned the number IP250069062, remains open and ongoing, as law enforcement officials encourage anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Cieyon Wheeler or the unidentified suspect to contact them directly or anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana, offering a potential $1000 reward for information leading to a felony arrest, "If you have information on his whereabouts, call 911, contact the IMPD Missing Persons Unit at 317-327-6160, or call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477)," as IMPD conveyed in their public appeal for assistance.
