As the city grapples to cool down, the forecast suggests a calm wind is set to become northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon, providing minimal relief from the sweltering heat. According to the NWS Nashville's latest update, the humidity hovers at 85%, making the high temperatures feel even more oppressive.
Tonight's predicted low is around 76 degrees with a northeast wind around 5 mph, transitioning to calm conditions as night falls. Come Monday, the city should anticipate another scorcher, with sunny skies and hot temperatures close to 100 degrees once again.
The early part of the week will maintain this pattern, but by Tuesday night, there's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm. The chance for precipitation continues sporadically throughout the week, reaching a 40 percent probability for showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, mainly after 1pm. Unfortunately, these chances may not be enough to substantially break up the prolonged presence of heat.
Despite the possible showers and thunderstorms, the NWS expects partly sunny conditions to prevail, with highs steadily near the low 90s towards the end of the week.
