On Tuesday, the high could edge even higher, reaching a scorching 101°F. Serene winds are forecast to give a slight reprieve from the heat. As we approach the midweek hump, there's a light at the end of the tunnel with a chance for showers and thunderstorms starting Wednesday afternoon, bringing a 40 percent chance of precipitation and a slight drop in temperatures to a high near 96°F, as per the NWS.
