The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a report of a shooting around 2 a.m. in the 3300 block of Graceland Avenue and found a victim with a gunshot wound, they were taken to a hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to their injuries, as reported by WTHR.
The crime scene, just east of 34th Street and North Meridian Street, remains under active investigation, though details of the event are currently sparse; the IMPD has yet to release identities or circumstances surrounding the violent encounter as they continue to piece together the events that transpired, FOX 59 later specified that one of the victims tragically died as a result of their wounds the police report confirmed the shocking finality of this neighborhood disruption.
At present, the authorities have not provided any additional information regarding potential suspects or motives behind the shooting, nor have they disclosed the condition of the second victim—the one survivor of this early morning tragedy.
