
The Lanesville neighborhood of Lawrence has added a new business to its local establishments. Red Dog Books, a used bookstore, recently opened at 7115 E 46th Street, according to an announcement from the City of Lawrence.
Red Dog Books offers a diverse inventory that includes paperbacks, hardcovers, children’s picture books, and various media formats such as DVDs, vinyl records, CDs, and VHS tapes. Prices are set at $3 for hardcovers, $2 for paperbacks, $1 for children’s picture books, and $2 for all other media items, providing affordable options for readers and collectors.
In addition to its affordable prices, the store is establishing a niche for enthusiasts of retro media. As reported by the City of Lawrence, Red Dog Books features "a surprisingly robust collection of VHS tapes," appealing to those who appreciate the nostalgic experience of using a VCR alongside traditional books.
While the space is still being developed, Red Dog Books is open for business. The store is welcoming visitors, including both regular customers and new patrons.
