An alarming home invasion in Southwest Miami-Dade has led to multiple arrests, following an incident where a Utah man and others are accused of an armed robbery targeting a local jeweler.

On March 13, York Valdez, a renowned jeweler with a substantial social media following, found himself, his family, and a toddler held at gunpoint for hours by masked assailants. The thieves, who forcefully entered Valdez's residence, made away with around $75,000 in jewelry, clothing, and also stole Valdez's Cadillac SUV, according to WSVN.

Jean Carlos Honores Vasquez, a 31-year-old from West Jordan, Utah, has been charged with armed occupied burglary with a battery, armed kidnapping, armed robbery, and conspiracy. This third suspect joins Wilfredo Antuna, 35, of Orlando, and Keith Ingraham, 57, of northwest Miami-Dade, who have already been arrested in connection with the crime. As reported by Local10, cellphone data placed Honores Vasquez, Antuna, and another man by the name of 32-year-old Felipe Carrere Cobas, at the scene of Valdez's home during the robbery. However, records show that Carrere was not in custody as of Friday.

Detectives pieced together phone records and witness statements, which along with surveillance footage, linked Honores Vasquez to the robbery. Following the crime, he purportedly flew from Miami International Airport to Utah under his brother’s name, an attempt to evade capture detailed in the arrest warrant. Honores Vasquez was later booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he held without bond on several charges including kidnapping, armed robbery, and an immigration hold, "Antuna was also in TGK without bond on the same charges as his court case remained pending Friday," confirms Local10.

The jeweler, York Valdez, owns York Jewelry stores in Hialeah and Miami and enjoys popularity on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Ingraham, who pleaded guilty to selling the stolen items, received an eight-year probation sentence shortly after the robbery.
