Bickelhaupt's arrest on June 2 stemmed from an alleged assault against his wife, an incident that purportedly spanned roughly two hours and induced critical injuries requiring emergency surgical intervention. The severity of the charges has since escalated to attempted second-degree murder and false imprisonment, with bail set to just under $100,000. CBS12 reports additionally surfaced allegations of Bickelhaupt trying to illicitly contact the victim from jail, which has led to further charges of witness tampering.
