An 84-year-old Springport man, Robert Anthony Parks, tragically lost his life after being hit by a vehicle yesterday. The Henry County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident around 1:04 p.m. on the 1400 block of East County Road 750 North, as reported by FOX59. Having suffered a medical issue, Parks was found deceased on the roadway.
Prior to the collision, Parks had reportedly fallen into the road, positioned within a shaded area, which is where the driver of the passing vehicle struck him, as informed by a statement from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office obtained by WTHR. Despite the immediate dispatch of deputies to the scene following the report of the crash, it was too late for any assistance to alter the grim outcome.
The driver involved in this unfortunate event was not injured, and as of now, there have been no charges reported in relation to this case. The investigation remains active, with detectives piecing together the circumstances surrounding Parks' tragic demise.
