The Carmel Police Department recently found itself addressing a unique community concern, particularly one involving a little squirrelly citizen named Chippy. According to a social media post by the department, Chippy, dubbed by students, had the poor fortune of getting trapped in the school courtyard, leading to a response by local authorities. The incident, which could have become an unforeseen disruption, was swiftly brought to a resolution by the Carmel PD.
After being notified of Chippy’s predicament, Carmel Police Department’s CSO Brittney and SRO Commodore responded to the school. Acting not only as law enforcement but also as wildlife stewards, they ensured the animal was safely relocated to a nearby park, though the department noted with humor that another adventure may already be on the horizon.
Both Chippy and the officials involved are safe following the resolution of this unique ordeal. "Chippy is safe, sound, and probably plotting his next adventure," commented the Carmel Police Department's post regarding the squirrel's future prospects after his relocation.
