During Forensic Science Week, the Fishers Police Department used social media to highlight its new forensics lab. Opened last year, the lab includes technologies such as DCS-5, M-Vac, VMD, and Rapid DNA, a combination not found in any other Indiana police department.
According to the Fishers Police Department's Facebook post, the lab processed 500 crime scenes in 2024, assisted 13 outside agencies, handled 337 digital cases, and examined 710 devices. The Digital Forensics team has worked on cases including child exploitation, narcotics, and a homicide investigation.
Forensic Science Week recognizes the work of forensic professionals, and the department outlines the lab’s capabilities and contributions to law enforcement efforts.
