Greene County schools will receive over $364,900 in state funding through Indiana’s Secured School Safety Grant Program. State Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) stated that the funding is part of a broader initiative covering 494 schools, according to Indiana House Republicans.
Local schools benefiting include Bloomfield School District and Eastern Greene Schools, with grants ranging from approximately $45,000 to $93,000. The funds can be used for safety enhancements such as technology, equipment, and student-parent support programs.
Since 2013, the Secured School Safety Grant Program has provided over $214 million for school safety in Indiana. Additional information is available on Indiana’s school safety website.
