Hancock County legislators received top marks for their performance in Indiana’s latest legislative session. State Reps. Cory Criswell (R-Middletown), Chris Jeter (R-Fishers), and Ethan Lawson (R-Greenfield) each earned perfect scores from the Indiana Chamber for their support of pro-economy and pro-jobs legislation, as per the Indiana House Republicans.
The scores reflect votes on measures covering child care, economic development, education, energy, health care, public finance/taxation, and road funding, key areas within the Chamber’s Indiana Prosperity 2035 strategy.
The lawmakers supported House Enrolled Act 1003 to lower health care costs, House Enrolled Act 1002 to reduce education regulations, and House Enrolled Act 1007 to bolster the state’s energy infrastructure. Senate Enrolled Act 1 introduced a new property tax relief format.
According to statements from Indiana House Republicans, Criswell, Jeter, and Lawson emphasized their focus on creating jobs, reducing costs, and strengthening Indiana’s economy. Indiana ranks first in the Midwest and sixth nationwide in Chief Executive Magazine’s Best & Worst States for Business survey and second in Forbes’ “Best states to start a business in.”
