An 18-year-old father in Howard County has been arrested following the death of his 2-month-old son. FOX59 reports that Alexander Bieghler was taken into custody after deputies responded to a residence on the 7000 block of East 50 North in Greentown around 1:47 p.m. on Saturday, where they found his unresponsive infant, Lucas Bieghler. The baby was transported to Community Howard Regional Hospital and later pronounced dead.
According to WTHR, authorities stated that evidence collected and accounts given were inconsistent with the injuries observed on the infant. These findings led to the arrest of Alexander Bieghler on preliminary charges of aggravated battery resulting in death.
WRTV confirms that an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow to determine the exact cause of death.
