The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported the arrest of 19-year-old Harold Love, Jr., the latest suspect connected to a recent shooting incident. Last Saturday, a shooting took place on the 5600 block of Georgetown Road which resulted in three individuals being injured. According to a social media post from IMPD News, Love was apprehended yesterday with the assistance of several IMPD specialty units.
Love faces multiple preliminary charges including three counts of Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery, Battery with a Deadly Weapon, and Possession of a Machine Gun. Following the arrest, officers also carried out a search warrant at Love's residence. Seized, in what was likely a surprise to the neighborhood, various illegal substances and additional charges were recommended, including Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of a Machine Gun, and Dealing Marijuana.
"An arrest and a charge are merely accusations, and Love should be considered innocent unless and until proven guilty," the IMPD statement clarified. This is a reminder that a suspect's legal standing remains unchanged until court proceedings come to fruition. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and is responsible for making a final charging decision. The designation of the case is IP250083025.
Harold Love, Jr.'s arrest marks a critical step in the investigation, providing a path for those injured and the local law enforcement to potentially see a resolution to the violence wrought that day in September. Further updates on this case are to be expected as the Marion County Prosecutor's Office determines their course of action against Love.
