
Jasper County schools will receive more than $141,000 to improve safety for students and staff through Indiana’s Secured School Safety Grant Program. According to Indiana House Republicans, the funding is part of a statewide $27 million investment benefiting 494 schools across Indiana.
Representative Michael Aylesworth noted that since 2013, Indiana has invested over $214 million in school safety. The grants support upgrades to safety technology, systems, and planning to improve emergency response.
Kankakee Valley School Corp. will receive $92,500 and Rensselaer Central School Corp. will receive $49,029. The funds may be used for resource officers, surveillance equipment, technology upgrades, alert systems, threat assessments, and student-parent support services.
