
A 17-year-old, Ethan Heath, died in a car crash early morning yesterday in Franklin County. According to WTHR, the accident happened near Blooming Grove on State Road 1 when Heath’s vehicle left the eastern side of the roadway, struck a culvert and a driveway, went airborne, and rolled multiple times.
Heath, a resident of Laurel, was pronounced dead at the scene around 4:30 a.m. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, along with other agencies, is investigating the cause of the crash, which remains undetermined. Heath was a student at Franklin County High School.
WRBI Radio reported that additional counselors have been made available at the high school to support students and staff. Franklin County Superintendent Dustin Gehring asked the community to keep Heath’s family, staff, and students in their thoughts.
According to The 812, the Franklin County School Corporation has expressed its condolences and encouraged anyone in need of support to reach out to the school’s counseling department.
