The Lawrence Fire Department introduced its newest ladder truck, Ladder 38, during a push-in ceremony yesterday. Fire Chief Bob Wallace and Mayor Deb Whitfield led the event, which marked the vehicle’s entry into service.
The City of Lawrence described the acquisition as an important step to ensure the department has the equipment needed to protect residents. The ceremony, a long-standing firefighter tradition, included participation from local government officials and community members.
City and Fire Department leadership, City Council members, and the Ladder 38 specification committee were recognized for their roles in bringing the project to completion.
The City of Lawrence publicly thanked all contributors for helping add Ladder 38 to the fleet, emphasizing the importance of updated resources to support public safety and emergency response.
