A lieutenant with the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office finds himself on the opposite side of the law following a domestic dispute involving his wife. Brian Pfeiffer, 50, was arrested on charges after a heated argument with his wife turned physical, as reported by Local10. According to an MDSO arrest report, Pfeiffer grabbed his wife's wrist, "forcibly ripped" her cellphone from her hands, and subsequently placed it on a kitchen counter before leaving their Cutler Bay home.

The incident, which took place overnight, escalated to a point where law enforcement intervention became necessary. Deputies began their investigation and detained Pfeiffer upon his return to the residence. "During the course of the dispute, the defendant became enraged, grabbed the victim's wrist as she was holding her cell phone, and forcibly ripped the cell phone from her grasp," the arrest report detailed, as noted by NBC Miami.

Pfeiffer, who has been a member of the MDSO since May 1999, denied any wrongdoing during a formal interview with the MDSO's Robbery Bureau. Despite his denial, he was booked on a strong-arm robbery charge, remarking "domestic violence," per online jail records. The lieutenant is currently relieved of duty, but continues to receive pay while the investigation proceeds.

Adding to the MDSO's turbulent week, another deputy, Jordan Aristide, was also arrested on domestic violence charges after an alleged altercation with his brother. “I am disappointed to learn that two of my deputies were arrested in separate domestic related incidents. Our deputies are held to the highest standards, and I expect more responsible behavior!” Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz expressed in a statement acquired by Local10. She emphasized that help is available for those experiencing domestic violence, affirming, “Domestic violence has no place in our community, and seeking help is a sign of strength. Help is available, you are not alone!”

While Pfeiffer remains held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, bond details are still pending. The MDSO is continuing its investigations into both incidents.
