According to a social media post by the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD), crews were dispatched after receiving reports of the fire. They arrived swiftly to find "smoke and flames coming from the garage" and acted quickly to contain the fire to its origin point.

The fire caused extensive smoke damage throughout the home, but thanks to fast action by the emergency teams, the occupants were able to quickly and safely evacuate without any reported injuries. In an effort to thoroughly investigate the incident, the Fire Marshal’s Office was reported to have been on the scene. Multiple MFRD units, including E7, L6, L8, R4, S1, S2, BC1, and BC2, were called out to desperately combat the fire.
