A North Miami Beach man is facing severe legal charges after allegedly committing an act of vehicular violence against two pedestrians at a local strip mall. According to a report by Local 10, Claudy Saul, 49, has been arrested on two counts of attempted murder following the harrowing incident which occurred in the Ojus area northeast of Miami-Dade.
It's detailed that, at approximately 12:40 p.m. last Saturday, deputies allege Saul waited for a woman to cross in a pedestrian zone at Shops at Skylake, 1650 NE Miami Gardens Drive, before sharply accelerating his vehicle to strike her. She sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized. Saul is then accused to have willfully, after driving a short distance, replicated this alarming behavior on a male pedestrian at another crosswalk. The second victim was also taken to the hospital following the attack. Details of both victims' conditions have not been disclosed.
Following the second impact, Saul reportedly crashed his vehicle into a concrete pillar, rendering it inoperable. This led to his apprehension on-site as he remained inside his damaged car. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office took Saul into custody and later transported him to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital before formal arrest, as conveyed by Local 10's coverage.
Furthermore, information gleaned from a post on Facebook revealed Saul's full charges, including two counts of "BATTERY/ AGGRAVATED/ WITH A DEADLY WEAPON" as well as two counts of "MURDER/ PREMEDITATED/ ATTEMPT." The Miami-Dade County Mugshots announcement also specifies Saul's date of birth, confirming his age, and notes that his bond was to be set. The narrative from the arrest report does not offer an explanation for Saul's actions, leaving the motive behind these disturbing events a mystery as of now.
As the case unfolds, Saul is currently held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The story is still developing, and more details may emerge as the investigation proceeds.
