Rush County Schools have received more than $60,000 from the Secured School Safety Grant Program. This funding is part of a $27 million statewide effort benefiting 494 schools, according to the Indiana House Republicans.
State Reps. Cory Criswell (R-Middletown) and Lindsay Patterson (R-Brookville) support the program, which provides grants for school resource officers, security technology, and student-parent support services.
The initiative also includes moving the Office of School Safety under the Department of Homeland Security to consolidate safety efforts. Since the program began in 2013, Indiana has invested over $214 million in school safety.
