The San Ramon Police Department responded to a call from Heller Jewelers, located at 6000 Bollinger Canyon Road, due to a violent armed robbery with suspects launching a take-over style assault on the establishment yesterday. The incident occurred at 1:50 PM, featuring roughly twenty masked individuals who stormed into the store, shattering display cases and scooping up goods, while multiple armed suspects stood guard, and shots were fired through the storefront, thankfully resulting in no injuries reported, as per a social media post from the San Ramon Police Department.
The perpetrators escaped in pre-planned vehicles from the City Center valet parking area, which led to a chase involving San Ramon Police Officers who had to terminate their pursuit due to the danger it posed to the public, with air support available overhead providing the means to continue tracking the onslaught of assailants. This unfolding drama extended across county lines, from Contra Costa into Alameda, resulting in the detainment of several suspects at disparate locales in Oakland and another in Dublin.
San Ramon detectives are pushing forward with their investigation into the robbery, and the department is calling for eyewitnesses to offer their accounts to Detective Corporal Kevin Tjahjadi at (925) 733-7316, as per their official communication. In their efforts to apprehend the culprits behind this crime, they are joined by and extend their gratitude to both the Alameda County Sheriff's Office and the Oakland Police Department for their assistance.
