In a concerted effort to definitively clamp down on the surge of violence and drug trafficking, the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office has successfully seized eight illegally possessed firearms and a substantial amount of narcotics. This proactive operation spanned over ten days, targeting criminal activities related to drugs and firearms in the area through traffic stops and the execution of search warrants, as reported by the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office.
As a result of the continued operation, five individuals have been apprehended and are now facing serious charges. Among them is 25-year-old Justin Streety, whose charges include various weapon and drug-related felonies. The others include Lloyd Johnson Jr., Roman Antonio Diaz-Castro, Kaci Rene Prout, and Felton Cade, with charges ranging from intent to distribute marijuana to resisting an officer. According to a statement on the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, Sheriff Mike Tregre commended the efforts of those involved and encouraged continued community cooperation.
"We will continue our efforts to remove these types of illegal guns from our streets," Sheriff Mike Tregre affirmed.
