
A house fire in North Lauderdale has left eight individuals without a home early this morning, with reports indicating that an unattended blow dryer is to blame. According to Local 10, the blaze started in the bedroom of a house located at the 6500 block of Harbour Road when a blow dryer left on a bed ignited a mattress.
The seriousness of the incident was further underscored by details from WSVN, stating the fire rapidly spread through the home initiating at around 4:00 a.m., and the responding North Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials have confirmed that four children and four adults have been displaced due to the extent of the fire's damage however thankfully, no injuries were reported in the incident. "I smelled smoke, I’d seen fire, then we just tried to put it out, then my little brother he called the firefighters and after that we all ran out the backdoor, We had to get out of there, you know? That’s when the firefighters came," a boy who was present at the home during the conflagration told WSVN.
Efforts to provide immediate relief to displaced residents are currently ongoing, with the Red Cross stepping in to assist these individuals, four of whom are children. The organization is known for providing support such as temporary lodging, food, and necessities to those afflicted by such disasters.
