Westfield High School in Hamilton County went on lockdown today after an unconfirmed report of a possible shooting. Police quickly secured the campus and conducted a search. By shortly after 3 p.m., authorities confirmed that no shots had been fired and no injuries had been reported.
A photo shared with WTHR by a parent showed students barricading classroom doors. Outside, parents gathered near the school while waiting for updates.
Westfield Police told FOX59 they were on scene to ensure everyone’s safety. In an email to parents, the school confirmed all students were safe.
Details of the reported threat have not been released, but the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office told the Hindustan Times there was no immediate danger to students or staff. The school has asked the community to avoid the area while the response continues.
