Carmel’s well-known “Morning Sun” sculpture will serve as the backdrop for a men’s health awareness event. The Carmel Fire Department will host the third annual “Everyone Deserves Their Morning Sun” Movember Kick-Off on Saturday at 9 a.m., with community members gathering at the sculpture located at the roundabout of North Range Line Road, Lowes Way, and Clay Terrace Boulevard.
The fundraiser and awareness event will focus on men’s health issues, including prostate and testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. Firefighters and local councilor Rich Taylor are expected to attend to help raise awareness. Flags will be set up around the area to show support, and each flag can be claimed for a $5 donation.
According to the City of Carmel, Chief Joel Thacker emphasized the purpose of the event, stating, “It’s a moment for our community to pause, remember and
stand united to show that no one fights alone.”
