The City of Carmel just rolled out a shiny new digital platform for all the public art aficionados out there. According to the City of Carmel, an announcement made yesterday, art lovers can now embark on a virtual journey through Carmel's collection thanks to their fresh-off-the-press Public Art StoryMap and interactive Public Art Walking Tours map.

Residents and visitors can now explore Carmel’s public art collection virtually through new digital tools introduced as part of the City’s Public Art Master Plan, which was approved in July. The platform is optimized for mobile devices, allowing users to access information about artworks and locations from anywhere. City officials said the initiative aims to make Carmel’s public art more accessible and to encourage greater engagement with the community’s cultural assets.

The new initiative hasn't appeared out of thin air, though. Props go to Shane Burnham from Carmel's tech team and Larysa Glaspie from Redevelopment, who have poured their efforts into making these resources as user-friendly as a walk in the park.

So, for those eager to see what Carmel's public art scene is all about, all that's left is to pull out your phone, fire up the StoryMap, and let your fingers do the walking.
