
The Anderson Fire Department took to social media to announce the final homecoming of Flight Nurse Susan "Suzie" Smith after her tragic passing per their official Facebook post. The flight nurse, a victim of the notorious medvac helicopter crash, will be flown to Red Bluff yesterday, at 14:00, because Redding Airport is currently out of service. Smith's procession will then be escorted by the CHP and EMS vehicles to the Allen & Dahl mortuary in Palo Cedro.
The conveyance will traverse from I-5 to Hwy 44 and then to Deschutes, Smith's cortege will be heralded by multiple fire apparatus strategically positioned on each overpass along the route; they are scheduled to be in place by 14:00, the day is sure to witness a somber unity as the community joins in the sorrowful farewell of one of its own.
It's been conveyed that there will be no viewing or services hosted at the Allen & Dahl premises, and the public is requested to respect the privacy of the grieving family and refrain from crowding the facility. The Anderson Fire Department asks the community to observe traffic laws and show consideration for the procession as well as other individuals paying their respects.
