Indiana House Republicans are seeking “interns” for the 2026 legislative session, offering paid, full-time positions at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis. Open to college students and recent graduates, the program runs from January through March and provides opportunities in legislative operations, policy, and communications, according to the Indiana House of Representatives.

State Rep. David Abbott said, “The House Republican Internship Program offers students a hands-on experience to explore government and understand how laws are made,” adding, “It’s a rewarding opportunity that can positively shape your career.” State Rep. Joanna King noted that participants will gain valuable experience working directly in the heart of state government, as reported by the Indiana House of Representatives.

“Interning with the House of Representatives gives students the ability to craft their skills and gain real-world knowledge outside of the classroom,” King said. The program allows interns to work with staff members and state representatives, take part in the legislative process, and interact with state agencies and private organizations. State Rep. Doug Miller (R-Elkhart) said, “Interns regularly interact with state lawmakers during session, including committee meetings and on the House floor,” as stated by the Indiana House of Representatives.
