Indiana’s Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship is now accepting applications, offering up to $10,000 per year for aspiring teachers. State Representatives Bob Heaton and Tim Yocum announced that the program aims to support students preparing for teaching careers in Indiana schools.

According to the Indiana House Republicans, applicants must be from an Indiana-accredited high school or a non-accredited nonpublic high school and rank in the top 20% of their class to qualify. Applications for the 2026–2027 academic year are open until January 31.

The scholarship’s value increased from $7,500 to $10,000 in 2023, and the previous cap of 200 annual awards was removed. In 2025, nearly 300 students received funding through the program.

Applications can be submitted at scholartrack.che.in.gov, and inquiries may be sent to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education at [email protected]. Recipients will be announced in April 2026.
