A Palm Beach Gardens woman lost her life in a tragic crash that occurred yesterday evening. Nicole Currivan, aged 30, met her unfortunate end after her vehicle went off-road and collided with a traffic signal pole at the intersection of Old Dixie Highway and Northlake Boulevard, Lake Park.
Details from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office confirm that Currivan was driving northbound when her car abruptly veered, struck a concrete curb, and proceeded to hit a traffic signal pole, CBS12 reported. The collision occurred around 7:41 p.m., and despite prompt medical attention, Currivan succumbed to her injuries just 30 minutes later. Deputies have pointed to impairment as a probable cause behind the fatal crash, although details regarding the nature, or source of the impairment remain under investigation.
Additionally, the vehicle, a 2025 Kia, not only struck the pole but rotated counter-clockwise before it came to a rest a short distance from the point of initial impact. The statement by the PBSO highlighted the fact that Currivan's car continued northbound through the intersection before colliding with the traffic signal pole in the corner of the intersection.
Impairment as a central factor in this incident was also corroborated by the crash report, according to the Palm Beach Post.
