Last Friday in Oakland, an individual was left injured in the aftermath of a freeway shooting incident that arose from a burst of road rage on the Bay Bridge. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers from the Oakland Area office raced against the dawn at around 5:45 AM to reach the eastbound Interstate 80 to southbound Interstate 880 transition, the CHP Golden Gate Division relayed on social media.

The injured party, who incurred a head wound, managed to maneuver to the ramp's shoulder, awaiting emergency services. Initially, the source of the victim’s injury was thought to be a gunshot; however, it was later clarified that the injury was due to debris from the shooting, as stated by the CHP Golden Gate Division’s report. Subsequently, the victim was taken to a local hospital for medical care.

Following the troubling event, the CHP Golden Gate Division Special Investigations Unit took the reins of the investigation. The transition ramp became a crime scene, taped off from the public until about 9:45 AM.

As the detectives diligently work on the case, the CHP appeals to the public for any information, urging individuals to contact the CHP Investigative Tipline at (707)917-4491.
