On October 7, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office held its National Night Out Against Crime, giving residents a chance to meet local deputies and enjoy a fun evening. The event ran from 5 to 8 PM in different districts and included free food, games, and family-friendly activities. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office invited everyone to join in for a night of food, fun, and community connection.

Spread across four main locations including 740 Oak Harbor Blvd. in Slidell, the Mandeville Trailhead with Mandeville PD, 16189 E. Brewster Rd. in Covington, and at 81651 Hwy 21 in Bush, the initiative was part of a larger, nationwide stand against crime, aimed at fostering stronger community-police relationships. An array of local businesses and non-profits were in attendance, providing information and engaging the public in friendly interactions, as reported by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office Facebook post.

In addition to the fixed locations for festivities, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office also reached out to registered neighborhood parties in the area. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office humorously encouraged residents to keep an eye out for their deputies, announcing on their Facebook page, "And if you’ve got a registered neighborhood party, keep an eye out… 👀 our deputies will be making rounds all evening!"
