It's that time of year again in Carmel, as the city gets ready to spread some holiday cheer with the return of Santa Tours. Starting on November 23 and cruising through December 14, Jolly Old Saint Nick and his entourage are coming to town, and they're packing more than just presents. According to a news release issued yesterday, November 19, Santa's sleigh will be escorted by the city's Fire, Police, and Street departments, ensuring a festive spectacle for all.
The tours are scheduled to light up the city on select dates—specifically Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, between 5 and 8 p.m., and this year, they're adding senior living facilities, schools, and parks to the mix, for those who don't reside along the ten neighborhood routes typically traversed by the procession. However, while Santa and his squad will be easily spotted by the flashing red lights, don't expect the blaring of sirens as they make their way down the streets, as stated by the City of Carmel announcement.
Residents are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for the man in red and his company, and who knows, there might even be some surprise guests joining the cavalcade this year. It's a chance to catch a glimpse or wave to Santa without the overcrowded malls and long waits that have long been synonymous with the holiday season highlights.
