In an effort to aid residents in safely discarding their old files and confidential papers, the City of Deerfield Beach has announced its next free shredding event slated for November 15. This community initiative is set to take place at the Bernard Adams Municipal Complex, located at 401 SW 4th St, Deerfield Beach FL 33441, from 8 am until noon.
The event comes with a few guidelines residents need to follow. Customers are expected to pre-remove all large metal and plastic clips, spines, and plastic notebook covers themselves before the shredding process. However, file folders, paperclips, and staples should be acceptable without issue. It was noted in the city's announcement that each household is limited to bringing a maximum of two boxes of material to shred.
Participation in the shredding services is exclusively available to Deerfield Beach residents. A driver's license or a utility bill will serve as acceptable proof of one's residency. The endeavor aims to provide a secure method to ensure residents' confidential documentation is destroyed, thereby reducing the risk of identity theft and promoting a sense of security within the community.
Interested residents are encouraged to come prepared with the necessary documentation to be swiftly allowed to dispose of their sensitive materials. For those seeking additional information regarding the shredding process or wishing to view the monthly schedule, resources can be found at the city's dedicated webpage.
