As Indiana residents brace for another round of winter weather, the state's transportation department is taking proactive measures to ensure safe travel. The Indiana Department of Transportation: East Central unit announced a "full call out" of its #YellowTrucks to handle the snow removal from earlier today and in anticipation of more snowfall expected later in the evening.
The Indiana Department of Transportation: East Central explained the move on their social media platform, "Our #YellowTrucks are in a full call out as we continue to clear roads from snow earlier today and prepare for more snow on the way this evening," according to a post on their official Facebook page. For the department, a full call out means that all available drivers are working in alternating 12-hour shifts to manage the ongoing winter conditions.
In coordination with ongoing weather forecasts, continued updates and travel advisories are expected to be shared by the transportation department. Keeping the community informed, the Indiana Department of Transportation: East Central stated, "We will remain on a full call out until the winter event ends and the roads are cleared," underlining their commitment to public safety and infrastructure reliability during these winter months.
