
An Indiana State Police trooper was hospitalized after being involved in a crash on the west side of Indianapolis last night, per multiple reports. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on northbound Interstate 465, specifically along the exit ramp to West 10th Street. The crash resulted in the temporary closure of the exit as authorities conducted their investigation.
Following the collision, the trooper was quickly transported to a nearby hospital. Early indications suggested that the trooper's injuries were not severe. As WTHR reported, a state police spokesperson stated, "they don't believe his injuries are serious." The specific circumstances surrounding how the trooper's vehicle came to quickly be struck by another car have not yet been disclosed.
FOX59 noted the crash happened just as heavier snow began to fall in some parts of Marion County. The challenging weather conditions had already been causing traffic issues throughout north central Indiana prior to the incident.
As of now, information about the driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash has not been released pending further investigation. According to a statement obtained by WISH-TV, "Investigators did not immediately provide any additional information on this incident."
