The City of Indianapolis took to social media to broadcast a helpful reminder for those planning to indulge in the city’s festive offerings or cheer on the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. An updated map highlighting suggested travel routes around downtown has been released, aiming to ease the congestion and confusion that often accompany large-scale urban redevelopment.
According to the city's announcement, it’s a multi-billion-dollar facelift to the city center, including the overhaul of Georgia Street, and a makeover for the Union Station overpass. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the Indianapolis Department of Public Works are no doubt working overtime to keep the traffic from turning into something out of a dystopian gridlock scenario.
