However, locals should brace for a change, as the forecast indicates things are about to really fluctuate.
According to the detailed forecast, today promises to warm up a bit, reaching a high near 53 with some areas of fog clearing out in the morning, but then tonight the weather decides it's not done yet, swinging back with rain likely to set in after 11pm—a 90% chance, with new precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Tomorrow is expected to bring more showers, especially before 1pm, and though the high might climb near 59, the southwest wind will blow at 5 to 7 mph, and the chance of precipitation is pegged again at a solid 70%, the NWS further reports.

The latter part of the week forewarns more wintery affairs, with Friday likely dawning sunny but offering only a high near 34, and folks should pay attention because Friday night introduces a 30 percent chance of snow after 1am that seems to set the stage for a snowy Saturday, where that chance of precipitation jumps to 60%, predicts the NWS. And for those still with plans to be out on that weekend, Saturday night could make things dicey with the likelihood of rain and snow combination, only adding to the week's weather drama, so it goes.
For those hitting the roads early this week, there's an extra note of caution. The NWS released a Special Weather Statement alerting to patchy dense fog across central Indiana this morning. "Patchy dense fog may reduce visibility down to around one quarter of a mile through mid morning," the statement warns, urging drivers to slow down and allocate additional time to reach their destinations, which makes sense, because no one wants a bout of fog to be the guest that overstays its welcome, or worse, the one that crashes the party uninvited.
