A tragic incident unfolded this morning on Indianapolis’ far east side, taking the life of a man in a supposed calm residential area. FOX59 reports that Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers, responding to a distress call just before 4 a.m., discovered an adult male with a fatal gunshot wound in a home located on the 1700 block of James Run Way.
While details surrounding the event remain sparse, it is understood that no suspects have been apprehended at this time, and the circumstances leading to the man's death are still a mystery and the Marion County Coroner’s Office has yet to release an official cause of death, WTHR explained, adding that while the IMPD Homicide detectives are on the case, the public is not believed to be at risk in connection with this isolated incident.
The investigation is drawing on community assistance as authorities urge anyone with information to step forward.
