Nashville's weather this week is set to have residents experience a mixture of conditions, ranging from sunny skies to potential thunderstorms. As the city woke to an overcast morning on November 23rd, with temperatures hovering at 51°F and a relatively high humidity of 77%, locals were looking at a day that would clear up, becoming mostly sunny with a calm wind and a warm high near 64°F, according to the National Weather Service in Nashville.
The forecast for tonight includes patchy fog developing between 10 pm and 3 am, with temperatures expected to drop to around 43°F. Calm winds will continue into Monday, which will see a 40 percent chance of showers, primarily after 5 pm, and partly sunny skies with the temperature climbing to near 68°. A calm wind in the morning is expected to pick up to around 5 mph, coming from the south-southeast.
According to the NWS Nashville, Monday night could bring showers mainly after 7 pm with a low around 56°F and a south southeast wind at speeds of 5 to 10 mph, gusting as high as 20 mph. "Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 9am, then showers between 9am and noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon," is expected on Tuesday, with a high probability of precipitation at 80% and temperatures hitting a high near 71°. Gusts could reach up to 20 mph again, maintaining the energetic pattern set by Monday's weather.
As the week progresses, the chance of showers tapers off on Tuesday night to 30% before midnight, while the skies should turn mostly cloudy and temperatures descend to a more comfortable 49°F, giving way to a mostly sunny Wednesday with a high near 57° and winds from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The following days lead into a clear Thanksgiving Day with sunny skies and temperatures peaking around 49°F.
The detailed forecast made available by the National Weather Service also indicates a mostly clear Thursday night with a low around 28°, while Friday will be mostly sunny with highs near 51°. The weekend doesn't stray far from the calm end of the week, with mostly cloudy conditions on Friday night and Saturday, and temperatures at lows around 35° and highs near 55° respectively. It seems Nashville residents should keep an umbrella at hand for the early part of the week and a coat for the latter, as November continues its cool descent into winter.
