
An incident in West Valley City has left a suspect in critical condition following an officer-involved shooting late Thursday night. According to KUTV, members of the US Marshal's Office were executing an arrest warrant at a residence near 3900 South 5600 West when the situation escalated. At around 9:30 p.m., the man, whose identity has not been disclosed but is known to hail from St. George, attempted to flee the scene while reportedly armed with a handgun.
During the chase, an officer from a task force opened fire, striking the man. "A task force officer fired on the suspect," as detailed by ABC4, leading to his immediate hospitalization. The details surrounding the warrant and the suspect’s original offenses remain undisclosed, with authorities withholding further information pending an investigation.
No law enforcement personnel were reported to be injured in the confrontation.
